Rodmilla and Marguerite are the primary antagonists of the 1998 film Ever After. The roles are played by Anjelica Huston (Rodmilla) and Megan Dodds
(Marguerite). Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent is Cinderella's evil stepmother in the film and Marguerite de Ghent is Danielle's not so ugly step-sister. She is cruel, arrogant, spoiled, and bad-tempered. Rodmilla's dream is for Marguerite to marry the Crown Prince Henry. Throughout the film both Marguerite and Rodmilla are terrible to Danielle, they treat
her as a slave and torment her. In once scene, Marguerite steals Danielle's mother's dress and slippers to wear at a ball. When Marguerite says something bad about Danielle's mother's death to Danielle, Danielle punches Marguerite. Marguerite goes falling back and flipping over her bed. Danielle then chases her around the manor. Marguerite makes a threat to burn Danielle's book Utopia, which was given to Danielle by her father before he died. Reluctantly Danielle gives her mother's slippers to Rodmilla, but Marguerite throws the book into the fireplace anyway out of spite. Later, Rodmila and Marguerite punish Danielle cruelly by having her whipped.
Later, Rodmilla has Danielle locked up in the pantry for insulting Marguerite.
Danielle inevitably wins the prince's hand in marriage and exposes her step-sister and step-mother. The two antagonists are forced to be forgotten as lowly servants as Danielle lives the life of an important member of the Royal Family.
The evil step-mother/step-sister duo are pushed into steaming hot water by an annoyed servant woman. At the same time they simultaneously suffer the indignity of a public temper tantrum and as they are laughed at and mocked by their fellow servants. Rodmilla reacts angrily, thrashing her arms wildly splashing water everywhere, while Maguerite shrieks and cries, burying her red hot face in her hands. This is their last scene in the movie.
